Welcome back to Seller Snacks, your weekly buffet of ecommerce goodness.

📣 Amazon is picking up the pace in 2026.

Prime Day is moving earlier.

Delivery expectations keep getting shorter.

Inventory cycles are tightening.

And the margin for error is getting smaller.

The sellers who adapt best to this environment probably won’t be the ones overanalyzing every possible buy for days at a time. They’ll be the ones who can identify solid opportunities quickly, replenish efficiently, and keep inventory moving consistently.

That’s exactly why more OA sellers are building stronger, faster, and more efficient sourcing systems.

Inside our Premium 44 and Elite 22 lead lists, our sourcing team filters through unstable opportunities upfront so you can spend less time digging through questionable leads and more time evaluating viable products with healthy margins, proven demand, stronger Buy Box stability, and healthier pricing behavior.

If you want a faster starting point for your daily sourcing, our team can deliver 10+ vetted OA leads straight to your inbox every Monday through Friday.

📦 Prime Day Moving to June Is Bigger Than Most Sellers Realize

Amazon moving Prime Day from July to June doesn’t sound like a huge deal.

A few weeks earlier. That’s it, right?

Not exactly.

The more you think about it, the more this feels like a signal that Amazon is accelerating the pace of ecommerce even further, and that has real implications for Amazon sellers.

For years, sellers have built sourcing rhythms around a fairly predictable retail calendar:

  • Q4 madness ends
  • January slows down
  • Spring sourcing ramps back up
  • Prime Day preparation happens during early summer

Moving Prime Day into June compresses that entire cycle.

Now sellers have less time to:

  • source inventory,
  • replenish winning ASINs,
  • prepare shipments,
  • and position inventory before one of the biggest shopping events of the year.

And honestly, we don’t think this is temporary.

Amazon is increasingly trying to control the retail calendar itself instead of reacting to it.

The Amazon likely wants to:

  • capture consumer spending earlier,
  • pull demand forward before summer vacations,
  • and spread major shopping events more evenly throughout the year.

For OA sellers, the practical takeaway is simple:

The game is speeding up.

The sellers who benefit most from this shift will probably be the ones who can source, test, and replenish inventory quickly – not the ones still spending three days debating whether to buy 10 units.

This also reinforces another trend we’ve talked about a lot recently:

Amazon is prioritizing speed everywhere.

Faster delivery.
Faster purchasing cycles.
Faster inventory movement.
Faster customer expectations.

And the sellers who adapt to that environment early will likely have a major advantage over the next few years.

Ironically, the actual Prime Day dates might end up being the least important part of this whole announcement.

☢️ Amazon Just Made Hazmat OA More Profitable

Amazon quietly rolled out a major update: starting April 30, all FBA-eligible dangerous goods can now be shipped through Amazon’s Partnered Carrier program, not just select lithium battery products.

blank

For OA sellers, this is huge because hazmat inbound shipping has historically been expensive and tricky to manage. Many sellers used to build extra hazmat shipping buffers directly into their sourcing calculations just to stay safe on margins.

Now, partnered carrier rates can significantly reduce those inbound costs.

In plain English: some hazmat leads that previously looked too tight may suddenly become profitable again.

Hazmat continues to be one of the more interesting corners of OA right now, and it’s not talked about enough:

  • less competition
  • stronger margins
  • more replenishable-style inventory

If you’re approved to sell hazmat (or close to getting approved) but don’t want to spend hours manually dealing with DG checks, compliance landmines, storage restrictions, and hazmat leads that fall apart after deeper analysis, our Uranus 22 Hazmat List is designed to give sellers a much faster starting point:

  • 5 vetted hazmat leads every weekday
  • compliance red-flag checks
  • margin + ROI estimates
  • current + 90-day sales rank analysis
  • and a strict 22-seat cap to reduce competition

🤿 Keepa Deep Dive: High Sales Don’t Matter If Amazon Controls the Buy Box

A lot of sellers see high sales volume and think:

“This has to be a great lead.”

Be careful, though.

Because if Amazon historically controls the Buy Box whenever they come back in stock, the opportunity may not actually belong to third-party sellers in the long run.

Take this lead we reviewed recently:

blank

Osteo Bi-Flex Triple Strength Glucosamine Supplement

  • Buy: $13.99
  • Sell: $28.59
  • Profit: $5.95/unit (42.53% ROI)
  • Monthly Sales: 600 units/month

The monthly sales figure looks very enticing…

But we still moved it into our scraps* section of that day’s lead list instead of including it as a top lead.

*Scraps – this is our bonus section. Includes leads that can work, but have minor incompatibilities with our sourcing standards.

Here’s why:

What Most Sellers See

  • 600 monthly sales
  • Solid ROI
  • Stable historical price around $28
  • Strong demand in supplements

For many sellers, that’s enough to buy immediately.

What the 180-Day Keepa Chart Actually Showed

blank

1. Amazon Historically Owned the Buy Box

The biggest issue wasn’t the price.

It was the Buy Box behavior.

Whenever Amazon came back in stock at a lower price level, they immediately took control of the Buy Box. That tells you something important:

The “real” market price may not actually be the higher third-party price you’re seeing.

It may simply be temporarily inflated while Amazon is out of stock.

2. The High Price Wasn’t Stable

Yes, the listing sat around the high-$20 range for stretches of time.

But the chart showed repeated resets whenever Amazon re-entered the listing.

That creates a dangerous cycle:

  • sellers buy based on the temporary higher price
  • Amazon comes back
  • margins compress quickly
  • inventory gets stuck

3. Why This Lead Could Still Work

This is the important nuance.

We didn’t fully reject the lead because there are still scenarios where it can work profitably.

For example:

  • if Amazon stays out of stock long enough
  • if inventory turns quickly
  • or if a seller buys shallow and exits before Amazon returns

Experienced sellers sometimes intentionally take these shorter-window opportunities.

But that’s very different from calling something a stable, scalable top lead.

The Real Signal Most Sellers Miss

It’s really easy to be lulled by metrics like sales rank, current price, and ROI.

However, keep in mind that one of the most important signals is:

Who historically controls the Buy Box when inventory returns?

Because displayed price does not always equal sustainable price.

Why This Matters

That $28 selling price and monthly sales figures looked really tasty…

But if Amazon consistently resets the listing lower whenever they return, the lead becomes far less stable than it first appears.

And stability matters.

Because unstable listings are how sellers end up with:

  • shrinking margins
  • unexpected price drops
  • slower inventory turns
  • cash tied up longer than expected

How We Filter for This

This is exactly why our sourcing team studies historical Buy Box behavior instead of only looking at current profitability.

Inside our Premium 44 and Elite 22 lead lists, we filter heavily for:

  • stable Buy Box control
  • healthier competitive environments
  • stronger long-term pricing behavior
  • leads with more reliable demand patterns

Our goal isn’t just finding profitable leads today.

It’s finding leads that still make sense after the market shifts tomorrow.

If you want a stronger starting point for your daily sourcing, our lead lists are built to save you time by filtering through unstable opportunities upfront so you can spend less time digging through questionable leads and more time evaluating products with stronger Buy Box stability, healthier pricing behavior, and more reliable demand.

🔗 6 Costly Keepa Mistakes That Lead to Bad Buys

Most sellers know how to use Keepa. Far fewer know how to actually read it correctly.

In this article, we broke down six common Keepa mistakes that quietly lead to bad OA buys, including relying too much on short-term charts, ignoring seasonality, misreading competition trends, and treating today’s price like it’s normal. One of the biggest takeaways: a product that only looks good in the last 30 days usually isn’t that good.

If you’ve ever wondered why a “great lead” suddenly turned into dead inventory a few weeks later, this article will most probably shed some light.

🔗 ICYMI: The Right Way to Use Cashback in OA

Cashback can absolutely improve your margins in online arbitrage, but a lot of sellers are handling it incorrectly behind the scenes.

In this article, we broke down the right way to think about and treat cashback in OA, including why cashback shouldn’t be treated like normal income, why reducing your product costs with cashback can create messy accounting, and how to keep your numbers cleaner as your business grows. If you’ve ever wondered whether you’re handling cashback properly from a bookkeeping or sourcing perspective, this one’s worth a read.

🔗 ICYMI: Amazon’s “Second Buy Box” Is Changing the Game

Brian and Robin Joy Olson shared a really interesting breakdown this week on Amazon’s new secondary featured offers like “Get it Faster” and why they matter for OA sellers.

The big takeaway: Amazon is starting to reward faster regional delivery with premium placement, even when that seller isn’t the lowest-priced option. In other words, speed and inventory positioning are beginning to matter just as much as price. If you’ve ever wondered why some higher-priced sellers still consistently get sales, this article explains the shift really well.

🗞️ Essential Amazon Seller Updates

🔗 Prime Day 2026 Is Officially in June

The worst kept secret in the Amazon world is finally out in the open…Prime Day is happening in June. Sellers have been operating like this was confirmed for months, but Amazon finally made it official this week.

No official dates yet for Prime Day, but Amazon has already announced key deadline dates:

  • May 26 → Last day to schedule Prime Day deals
  • May 27 → AWD shipment deadline
  • May 27 → FBA shipment deadline with minimal shipment splits
  • June 5 → FBA shipment deadline with Amazon-optimized shipment splits

In other words: if you want Prime Day-ready inventory, procrastination season is officially over.

🔗 Amazon Adds 1-Year Price History

Amazon is expanding its built-in price history tool to show a full 365 days of pricing data directly on product pages and through Rufus. In other words: Amazon basically added a lightweight version of Keepa for customers.

The timing before Prime Day is probably not accidental. Shoppers can now quickly see whether a “limited-time deal” is actually a discount or just the same price with a bigger red badge attached to it. For OA sellers pricing competitively, this probably changes very little. But for sellers relying on inflated list prices and fake urgency, Prime Day just got a little more difficult.

🔗 Amazon Is Going Bigger on Logistics

Amazon officially renamed “Supply Chain by Amazon” to “Amazon Supply Chain Services,” which is corporate-speak for: “we want to handle more of your business logistics.”

Nothing changes operationally right now (workflows stay the same), but the bigger story is Amazon continuing to position itself as a full-service logistics network, even for businesses selling outside of Amazon. Translation: Amazon doesn’t just want to store and fulfill your inventory anymore… They want to own the entire supply chain from factory to customer doorstep.

🔗 Jim Cockrum on the Future of Amazon Reselling

Is Amazon reselling getting saturated? According to Jim Cockrum in the latest Silent Sales Machine Radio episode, not even close.

In the episode, Jim breaks down why Amazon still has massive inventory gaps across its warehouse network, why many sellers are too obsessed with the Buy Box, and how fast shipping demand continues to create opportunities for OA sellers willing to think differently. If you enjoy the bigger-picture conversations around where reselling is headed over the next few years, this one’s worth adding to your queue.

📅 Seller event alert: The Proven Conference is happening on August 25-27 in Las Vegas. Hosted by Jim Cockrum, The Proven Conference is shaping up to be a strong event for OA sellers, especially if you’re focused on sourcing and systems. Early registrants can access a limited “open laptop” workshop on August 24 where sellers will break down the two steps of Amazon reselling in real time, and attendees will also have opportunities to connect directly with brands and wholesalers actively approving sellers on-site.

🔗 Amazon’s Latest Seller Report Is Surprisingly Encouraging

Amazon released its 2025 Small Business Empowerment Report this week, and the biggest takeaway is honestly pretty optimistic for third-party sellers.

More than 75,000 independent sellers crossed $1M in annual sales in 2025, a 36% jump from the year before. U.S. sellers averaged over $375,000 in annual sales. Amazon also said independent sellers now account for more than 60% of sales on the platform.

Obviously Amazon loves publishing reports that make Amazon look good, but the broader signal here is still important: third-party sellers continue to grow, ecommerce keeps expanding, and despite all the doomposting online, there’s still a lot of opportunity in this business model for sellers willing to adapt and stay consistent.

🔗 Amazon Says It’s Now the 2nd Largest Grocer in the U.S.

Amazon CEO Andy Jassy said this week that Amazon is now the second-largest grocer in the United States, with more than $150 billion in grocery sales last year. That lines up with how aggressively Amazon has been pushing grocery lately, especially around same-day perishables delivery and expanding Whole Foods.

Amazon doubling down on grocery is another sign they’re prioritizing fast-moving, everyday purchases, not just big-ticket items. And honestly, that’s probably good news for OA sellers focused on replenishable-style inventory and products customers buy over and over again.
